Tools are more valuable when they are shared.
Local Program is an extension of our workshop in Ghent — a shared space for making, experimenting and producing. By opening up selected machines and workspaces, we want to make professional tools more accessible to independent designers, artists and makers.
Planer / Thicknesser
Our workshop is equipped with a Robland planer and thicknesser, suitable for preparing solid timber for furniture making, prototyping and small-scale production.

The machine has a working width of up to 310 mm and a thicknessing capacity of up to 210 mm.

For safety reasons, this machine is only available to professional or experienced woodworkers who are confident working independently with this type of equipment.
Experience with professional woodworking machinery is required.
CNC
Our workshop is equipped with an Inventables X-Carve CNC, suitable for prototyping, furniture components, joinery and small-scale production.

The machine has a horizontal working area of approximately 750 × 750 mm, with a maximum working height of around 60 mm.
A vertical work surface is also available, allowing parts to be machined from the end or side. This makes the CNC particularly useful for creating precise furniture joints such as mortise and tenon joints, dovetails and other custom joinery.
The machine is operated using Universal G-Code Sender (UGS).

Basic CNC knowledge is recommended. Files and toolpaths can be prepared in advance or discussed depending on the project.
Because the machine can also be used vertically for joinery, some familiarity with workholding and safe CNC operation is useful.
For more complex setups, we recommend discussing the project with us beforehand.
Sewing Studio
Our sewing studio is equipped for prototyping, repairs and small-scale textile production, with machines suited to a range of materials from lightweight fabrics to heavy denim.

The studio includes a Global industrial sewing machine with adjustable stitch length from 0–5 mm, automatic thread trimming, automatic foot lift and programmable functions. It is suitable for both light and heavier fabrics.
A Juki DDW-226 is available for light to medium-weight fabrics, with a stitch length of up to 4 mm.
For finishing, the studio includes a Juki 4-thread overlocker and a Wilcox & Gibbs 5-thread safety stitch machine.
